Based on my experience, the role of a Sample Coordinator in garment manufacturing is to receive the samples from the factory, review overall details and worksmanship with design and patternmaking department, ensure style is followed as per sketch, control measurements, enlist sample with others in preparation for fitting on live model; assist during the fitting and notate any comments for future reference and records. Once this sample is finished reviewed and processed, these samples are tagged or labeled with an approval code in example, "Approved for bulk" or request for pre-production sample if needed. The Sample Coordinator also stores and keeps an organized archive of all samples from prototype to top of prodcution for all future purposes as required.
