Question

Asked: Oct 24, 2009

Why aren't there more people like you?

Hello Scott. Not really a question (but I felt obligated to phrase it as such), but I wanted to thank you for your response on, "Need help closing the sale."

Your input was insightful and refreshing. The words integrity are not used often enough when discussing sales. Especially in the digital era of human interaction, I think people such as yourself are going to do far better in the long run than people simply chasing a higher bottom line. People are expecting more from business, and among those things are better relationships. It is as if many business owners and sales people haven't realized that just because we can do business faster and remotely, that we can ignore the role we play in helping our customers. And part of truly helping a customer isn't just about selling them a product/service that all indicators say they need, but as you say, being a "decision facilitator."

Just wanted to thank you. I forwarded your response to everyone in my company.

I didn't realize that questions directed a specific person were publically displayed. The above "question" is actually kudos to ScottAllen. I apologize if this is an inappropriate question, but I didn't see any other way to communicate with another visitor.

No worries, TraderDan - thanks for reminding me to make it clearer how that "submit your question directly to..." works. It does post the question publicly, and it also sends the expert in question a direct email so he/she knows to go look at the question.

I copied your extremely nice comments and put them in the thread with the original question - hope that's okay!
