Reliability and costs.

Run a 'google' search for cc processing companies. They don't have to be in Fla to provide the service.

Locally, start at your bank. They will have one or more vendors that they use, they may even offer the service internally.

Next, local yellow pages. merchant Services, Merchant Processing Services, etc.

Next, Chamber of Commerce membership rolls. If they've invested in CoC membership, they're likely to be more 'established' locally than others. You could even run a small classified in the local paper. At a guess you'll get more calls than you want to take. :)

Remember, there are several things these guys will be trying to sell. The processing equipment, the processing service(s), add-on services (gift cards, etc.), and customer services. All have costs involved, and some may not be 'dollar' costs. Always ask for three or four local merchants using the services you are looking at, and CALL them for their opinions! Get several bids, and analyse them carefully.
