'Special Districts' - Do I really have to join?

They hold weekly meetings (a time-waster) and have hefty dues (a cash drain). All they do is an annual event. I have enough to worry about running my business!

A special district in my community holds an annual open house that people really look forward to. I guess you have to weigh events like that and the exposure you get against the effort/money. http://www.southlakeavenue...
