IT assets sitting idle, what to do?

My firm had layoffs about six months ago and much of our IT equipment is sitting idle? Is there some way to cut cost?

First check if you're really not using it. A server may look idle but could be a main part of your instructure. You could use an network inventory software to see what is/isn't being used before chucking it (or better still recycle it and get some $)
