IF I PUT A MAGNET ON THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE ADVERTISING FOR MY BUSINESS DO I NEED COMMERCIAL AUTO INSURANCE?

I WANT TO PUT A MAGNET ON MY PERSONAL VEHICLE THAT I USE EVERYDAY DRIVING AROUND EVERYWHERE DO I HAVE TO HAVE THIS PUT ON A COMMERCIAL AUTO INSURANCE POLICY JUST BECAUSE OF THE ADVERTISING?

In most cases, you should be fine under your personal auto policy. I would always suggest you double check with your agent or company.

Business use of vehicle under a personal auto policy are excluded, unless:
**This is a private passenger auto
**Pickup or van
**Trailer used with private pasenger auto, pickup or van.

It sounds like this is a personal passenger auto so again you should have no problems under your personal auto policy.

If the vehicle is titled as a business entity i.e. S Corp, C Corp, LLC, etc., then I would highly recommend you get coverage under a commercial auto policy.

Good luck.

One of the problems with insuring your vehicle as a personal car, but using it in a business, is the ad will be like waving a red flag in front of a personal injury lawyer should you have an accident. A business vehicle, no matter how the owner insures it, means deeper pockets for the lawyer to sue. If you have significant business and personal assets that would be in jeopardy if you were in an accident, commercial insurance is probably the better choice because of higher primary limits. The old saying applies here: Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
