How do I report a colleague for maybe stealing confidential info?

I've seen one of the peopel who works in my group taking home stuff that really belongs in the office - sensitive, confidential files. I'm not sure whether to confront him directly or tell our boss or what. Suggestions please.

My opinion is that you should go directly to a supervisor. Be careful to only state what you have seen. Do not let personal feelings, perceptions, etc. get involved. Just say "This is what I saw and I think you should be aware of it." Then let your manager handle it from there.
